True Blood Season 4: Waiting Sucks (#1)

OK, so I am a True Blood junkie! I might not always agree with the direction that the show went in compared to the book, but I will agree that it's an amazing series!

So as you all know season 4 is RIGHT around the corner! Most everyone knows it'll debut Sunday, June 12th, but HBO is still not confirming that date. One thing that they have done is started airing their famous, "Waiting Sucks", clips! Below is the first one that they aired, shirtless Eric, yum!

So for those of you who have read the books and know how this book starts, do you think it'll be good?

It's Monday, that means one thing...Man Candy

With the lag that I'm feeling this morning, I'm blaming it all on daylight savings, ugh! So I need some cheering up, and what better way then with some steaminess :)

(though this just makes me wanna crawl back into bed)

(and this makes me wanna go get my workout on)

And here's a BONUS for all the extra sleepy people!

*swoon* Though you can't see his body, I just want to lose myself in those eyes all day long!

Fresh Face Friday 3-11-11

What if you knew exactly when you would die?

Thanks to modern science, every human being has become a ticking genetic time bomb—males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.

When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape—to find her twin brother and go home.

But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant Rhine is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limited time she has left.

After reading the synopsis for Lauren DeStefano's debut book, Wither, I was instantly intrigued! Eccentric over-bearing fathers make any story awesome, but one who wants to experiment on dead people, that's just screams read me! Then of course when the cover came out I fell IN LOVE! It's absolutely stunning, and I feel that it fits the over all vibe of the book perfectly. I can't wait to turn the cover of this book and see how well the story of Rhine plays out. Though this is the first book in the Chemical Garden trilogy, Lauren has been getting some great buzz around the web about Wither. I'm hoping that she can bust the other two books out quickly, because once I read a great book, it's torture waiting for the next one!

Wither's release date is March 22nd, so if you're interested in ordering your copy make sure you check out Lauren's website. Of course there's also the mandatory stalking on Twitter, and becoming a fan on Facebook.

Laney (The Brookehaven Vampires Series Book #1) - By Joann I. Martin Sowles

Release Date: 10/30/2010
Publisher: Brookhaven Publishing
Purchase Info: Amazon, Barnes & Noble

In a small college town in Northern California, Laney Alexander leads a regular, uneventful life-that is, until the charming and alluring Oliver Knight enters her world. Who is this gorgeous and mysterious stranger? Or, rather, what is he? As Laney's sophomore year of college begins, so does an unbelievable adventure-including a love she didn't know she longed for. She soon learns that Oliver is not ordinary, nor is the rest of his family, including a sister who openly hates her and a brother who will stop at nothing for revenge. As she fights for her life, and Oliver's love, Laney discovers that the fictional world of vampires isn't so fictional after all. Nobody is safe, especially Laney, Oliver's most important priority, and he will stop at nothing to protect her. With her mortality at risk, and a commitment revealed that she, without a doubt, knows she wants, Laney's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn...

After longing to read this book since it came out last year, I was lucky enough to actually win it. As soon as it came in the mail I ripped it open and wasn't able to put it down. Plus with a story that is being based in a town that is literally an hour away, it helped create such an amazing visual in my head. I knew exactly where all the places Joann was taking Laney, her college, the bars, everything.

Going to college isn't an easy task for anyone, but when Laney runs into Oliver Knight on the first day of school, her focus is on her new favorite subject....him. The chemistry with Laney & Oliver was apparent from the start, you can tell that he's on a mission to claim Laney's heart when he starts showing up everywhere she is. Though she can't explain it, but she finds herself drawn to Oliver, like a moth to a flame. Laney can feel that underlying danger when she's in his presence, but knows that it's never danger towards her. While feeling safe in Oliver's arms, she can't explain the weird connect that she feels whenever Oliver is around his family and his sister Julz. There's just something there that Laney can't put her finger on.

After having the truth revealed and coming to terms with what Oliver truly is, Laney knows that her place is by his side. Being the one he loves, and unconditionally loving him seems to come more natural to her then breathing. (even with an army of rogue vampires after them).

With chemistry, suspense, and action to no end, The Brookehaven Vampires will be a series that I will follow until the author decides she's had enough. Joann left so many questions unanswered, but in a good way, that you'll only be highly anticipating the next novels release.
