She learns the truth about her father's death, and finds out that she may not be as "human" as she once thought. She struggles to accept her fate, while fighting for her life.

  This was one of those fast paced books that you can't stop reading and then wonder where it went to.  Heather White actually has that type of writing style in general and it makes for a good, quick read.


  Interesting would probably be the best way to describe this book.  There are so many little twists that you become seriously involved in what is going on.  There was never a dull moment and I wanted so badly to figure out what was going on with Sofia that I couldn't put this book down.  Every time I thought I had everyone figured out there would be a little something said or added that made me question it all.  I couldn't believe that Heather could make the plot take so many interesting turns and not run out of ways to make it still interesting! 


  Sofia is dealing with a lot in her life and to me that made her a little more believable.  I mean who wants a character that has a perfect life.  Not only was her life not perfect but it was the fact that she just didn't let everything get to her.  Ya, her mom is a drunk and yes she lost her dad but despite her inability to catch a break she pushes on through life.  Although her mom seriously rubbed me the wrong way, in a scream and pull on my hair kind of way I think she is why Sofia is so awesome.


  The guys in this book are awesome.  They are really what keeps you guessing and I was so torn so many times on who I wanted.  There was such a draw to Robbie but Jason seems like the best choice.  I did the inner debate thing throughout the entire book.  I did make a decision but I  am not going to share it because honestly I don't want to sway any one's opinion even a little bit.  I know how cruel of me but really if you get a chance read this book and you will totally get why I say this.


  I feel like this series has a lot of potential and I really can't wait to see where Heather goes with it in the next book.  I hope that there is a little more explanation as to what everyone is or how they came to be because I felt the details were a little foggy but honestly overall this book was a lot of fun to read!!

Where do I start with this one...  The cover is just STUNNING!! I have so much love for all

of the covers in this series but being a pink lover this is probably my absolute favorite!!  Then

so excited for this one!!

First Thought: Edge of my seat the WHOLE time!

Plunging into SEE I already had high hopes for it because of Jamie's previously published, Insight Series. There’s just something about the way that she writes that calls to my soul. It’s vivid, emotional and takes my breath away.

Forgetting who you are and everything you've know sucks. Initially I felt SO bad for Charlie, but then I kind of started to appreciate her memory loss. As she moves back home and starts remembering everything, it's like you're watching her fall in love for the first time. Though there's underlying issues, the relationship that she creates with Draven is awesome! 

 Trying to find her "way back" has her whole life turned upside down. With temptation always calling....literally....it almost seems like she'll never return to the person she once was. 

This is where I really started to get into it, Charlie has moved away from all the evil in her life, but yet it's right there at every turn. She seems so confused at times that you wonder which side of the line she's going to land on. Even though everything her heart calls to her feels right, it seems that the Darkness could have something a little interesting to offer her.


Trying to sum this up without babbling on and on and on seems difficult. I want to gush and rant, and gush and rant! Though keep in mind that I mean rant in a completely positive way. Charlie is possibly one of my favorite female leads of all time. It's not because she's quick and witty, it's because you can see how true & pure her heart is. She wants nothing more then for the ones that she loves to be safe. It's no wonder that her and Draven are meant for each other....and have a mentioned how yumm-tastic Draven is??!! This man has more patience  then I could EVER find. Knowing that the person you love can't remember you or recall your last conversation, that to me would be soul-crushing. But Draven keeps his faith in Charlie and knows that what they have can't be tainted by magic....can it??


Overall this book was fab! Number 2 should be equally amazing, but only time will tell :)

*REVIEW* BeSwitched by Molly Snow

When a magical black cat, Surla, runs away from her bombastic witch, she has no idea she will soon be living the life of shy teenage girl, Cathy Phillips, confronting the mean girls and cute guys of Washington High.

Cathy’s peers notice a dramatic change when she starts standing up for herself, dressing differently, snagging dates and picking up feline habits. Meanwhile, Surla’s witch is a flaming red-haired fury, awkwardly trying to fit into society, so she can find her familiar and perform magic once again.

The “curse” of being BeSwitched may just be the most purr-fect secret these new best friends could ever have!




 BeSwitched was such a quick and fun read.  Molly Snow has combined the fun on Freaky Friday with some serious teen issues like bullying.  The book even has a quick and easy start that draws you right into the action and fun!


  There are many reasons that I enjoyed this book but the main one was that the characters were fun.  I know you just heard fun but when Surla and Cathy get crossed there is a lot of things that will make you smile.  I loved Surla in Cathy's body.  Cathy was kind of boring and lacked a lot of self confidence (or really any for that matter) which I find annoying in a character, so I was relieved to know that Surla was going to change everything for her.  When they both take the switch with such grace and acceptance, it becomes clear how things are going to go.  I found that some of the secondary characters fell short for me and I wish they hadn't.  Chrissy had such potential and I wanted to see more of her.


   There are also some bigger issues that come out in this book.  Bullying is the biggest of those.  Being  a teen isn't easy at the best of times and being an outsider is even harder.  Cathy has always been picked on by the more popular people and kind of tries to shy away from any attention.  When Surla switches up with Cathy the bullying is kind of put to a stop.  She refuses to be put down by the people that just want to belittle her and make her feel worse about herself.  To a point Surla turned Cathy into the kind of MC that I love to read about and keeps me coming back for more.


  This is more of a novella and is a super quick read.  However in the little time it took me to read it I had a lot of fun.  There was multiple points where I found myself with a smile and wondering what Surla was going to do next.  If you liked Freaky Friday or Sabrina the Teenage Witch you will probably enjoy this fun and light read.

Was super lucky and awesomely surprised when a box came for me on Monday.  Upon
signing my life away for it I realized who it was from.  It is no secret how much I love
Kailin Gow and her books so I can't even begin to describe how excited I was when
I opened it up and found all of these books!! I have been attending A LOT of Kailin Gow's
launch parties and this is what I received!! The picture on the left is signed finished copies and
the right hand side is signed ARCs.  Yup best happy dance EVER!!!!  Thank you Kailin, I can't
thank you enough for this!!

There was more Kailin Gow awesomeness in my mailbox later on in the week.  Ya you would think I had enough but NO!!  I had won the 3rd book in the Phantom Diaries series Immortal Darkness
but needed the first 2.   So when Jodie from Uniquely Moi Books sent out a for sale letter and
had these on there... Well I HAD to have them!! Thank you:) Please go visit the totally awesome

*REVIEW* The Selection by Kiera Cass

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

  This is one of those books that I fell in love with because of it's gorgeous cover and interesting description.  When I won a copy I was absolutely ecstatic and couldn't wait to get it!  Then I read all kinds of mixed reviews and got a little nervous.  I really loved the cover and didn't want to be let down by this beautiful book.  After some procrastination and self debating I picked it up and hoped for the best.  Truth be told I am a little upset that I didn't do it sooner than I did.


  Right from the get go you realize that America Singer is not into the Selection.  Actually she wants nothing to do with it and would be just as happy staying right where she is as a 5.  Heck she would be happy being a 6 with Aspen.  The Selection is just a silly competition that is for all the 2's and 3's to fight over.  Maxon in her eyes is nothing more than a stiff and stuck up royal and really how far off can she be with him being royalty.  When both her Mom and Aspen both talk her into entering for the selection it was hard not to get excited and kind of worry about where things were going.  I knew she was going to be picked as one of the 35 so there was a lot of different emotions going on with the events that led up to that moment for me.


  I really loved America as a character.  There wasn't anything special about her really and in her world she was less than average but she had her own ideas and feelings.  To her the world/caste you are from is not who you are and she kind of shows it.  Being sent to live at the palace is almost too much for her.  It's like being in a cage but as Maxon puts it "it's a pretty cage."  Her first run in with Maxon is really where I fell in love with her when she kind of tells him off.  It takes a lot of guts to say your mind in a place where you have been told to mind every word you say.  I guess the fact that she refused to change who she was for anyone, even royalty was impressive.  


  Upon meeting our bachelor Maxon (we all see the resemblance to the t.v show The Bachelor) the book kind of took a turn for me.  I had expected him to be as America seen him stiff and stuck up but he wasn't.  He seemed more like a lost and lonely puppy to start.  When America yells at him, he just tries his best to help her.  Right then was when I myself to fall for him.  He never seems to pressure any of the girls and his intentions and affection seem as pure as possible in the circumstances.  At times I do feel that who he picks isn't his own choice though and that does irritate me but I guess when you are one of the most important people in the country you have to worry.


  The romance in this book was what really got me hooked.  It was as far from forced as I have ever seen.  Things progressed  at a normal speed and nothing was instant.  The friendship that Maxon and America build is easy and feels so natural.  I was exceedingly happy that she didn't just get there and fall head over heels for him and him with her.  Every inch of me at times wanted to scream at them to just love each other but at the same time it was really a breath of fresh air to have a friendship and see the relationship build up.

 The dystopian world that Kiera Cass has created also really caught my attention.  There are caste in which each person is a part of. 1 being royalty and 8 being the homeless.  This is how everyone sees each other, as numbers.  To be honest it seem like a more honest version of how things are today.  There are tiers in which people live or tax brackets.  In this future it's just a far more defined bracket for each person and family.  There is also no room for advancement really, unless you manage to marry up or become popular in what you do.  I would have liked a little more depth in how the system worked but to be honest I think that is how the book remained an easy read, by staying away from heavy subjects.

  If you haven't caught on yet, I LOVED this book.  The story inside that gorgeous cover is in my opinion wonderfully written.  There are so many moments that I love and I know this is going to be one of those books that I will go back and read.  If you are a fan of dystopian novels or even reality elimination television shows you will fall for this book.  This is a fun and girly book that will have you smiling and hoping that America makes it.  I wish that book 2 was not so far away because honestly the wait for it will be torturous, especially if the cover is even half as stunning as the first!
